For plumbers, carpenters, electricians and landscapers

A video ad for your trade business, made from your website

adkix reads your website, or your Instagram account, and turns it into a story-style video ad of 15 seconds to 1 minute for your trade business: suggested angles, script, voice-over, shots filmed by AI, music and captions. No shoot, no avatar, no agency. You review every step before spending credits, then download a 9:16 MP4 for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, or 16:9 for your website.

Why video matters for a tradesperson in 2026

You're a plumber, a carpenter, an electrician, a tiler or a landscaper. Your diary fills up mostly by word of mouth, and that's a good thing. The day you want more jobs in your area, or better-chosen jobs, local people need to see you before they have a leak. That's where a short video ad on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok does the work a business card no longer does.

Most small businesses are online by now, but many of them are on mute: a website that hasn't changed in years, a page with three posts. The question for a tradesperson is no longer whether to be online. It's being seen by the right people: the homeowners in your town who are planning a renovation, not the whole world.

Short video has an edge here. On Facebook and Instagram, an ad can be targeted by area. Fifteen seconds that show a concrete problem (the 1980s bathroom, the creaking floor, the fuse box that keeps tripping) and how you fix it say more than a photo with a phone number.

How adkix makes your video from your website

Paste your website address. No website? Your Instagram account or one sentence describing your trade is enough. Every step can be reviewed and changed before you spend credits. Allow about twenty minutes from the pasted link to the finished video.

  1. adkix reads your brand

Your trades, your area, your tone, what sets you apart: fast quotes, guaranteed work, a family business for thirty years.

  2. It suggests angles

For example 'the customer who's afraid the job will never end' or 'before and after of a kitchen'. You pick one, or rewrite it.

  3. It writes the script and records the voice-over

A real short story, with a hook in the first two seconds and a call to action at the end.

  4. It films every shot with AI

Then adds music and word-by-word captions, and exports a 9:16 MP4 for social media or 16:9 for your website and YouTube.

Five video ad ideas for a tradesperson

To write a hook that holds attention, our guide to video ad hooks gives tested formulas. If you'd rather write the text yourself, start from the 30-second video ad script. Both are under 'Read next' at the bottom of this page.

IdeaWho it suitsPossible hook
The everyday problemPlumber, electrician, heating engineer'Has your boiler been making that noise since last winter?'
Before and afterCarpenter, tiler, painter, landscaper'This kitchen was 30 years old. Here's what we did with it in ten days.'
Fear of the building siteRenovation, masonry'You keep putting off the work because you're afraid it'll take six months.'
The craftCabinetmaker, blacksmith, stonemason'One table, 42 hours in the workshop, a single oak.'
The seasonal offerRoofer, chimney sweep, tree surgeon'Before the first frost, we check your roof.'

What works on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for a tradesperson

An honest point first: the video tells the story of your trade with generated images. It doesn't replace photos of your real jobs, which remain your best proof. Its job is to stop the thumb of someone scrolling their feed and send them to your work.

Name a place. 'In Bristol and within 20 miles' in the voice-over or the captions reassures more than a slogan: people are looking for someone who can come to their home. Show a problem before you show yourself. The customer isn't buying a plumber, they want the leak to stop. Open on the leak.

Keep it short: for a first ad, 15 to 30 seconds is enough. End on a single action, 'Request your quote on the website' or 'Call us', not both. The most common TikTok ad mistakes apply to Facebook too.

Facebook first, often. Your homeowner customers aged 40 to 65 are still there in numbers. Instagram works well for the visual trades (kitchen, bathroom, garden). TikTok is more useful for recruiting apprentices than for selling a roof. The same film goes out as a Reel thanks to the 9:16 format.

Example: a joinery that wants more kitchen jobs

A made-up example, not a customer. Lebrun Joinery, three people on the edge of a mid-sized town, mostly makes windows. They'd like more made-to-measure kitchens, which pay better. The owner pastes the website address into adkix.

adkix spots the 'kitchens' page on the site, the line 'made in our own workshop' and the service area. It suggests three angles; the owner picks 'the thirty-year-old kitchen'. The 30-second script opens on a tired kitchen, tells the story of the workshop, the wood chosen, the fitting in a week, and ends on 'Free quote within 30 miles, link in profile'.

The owner changes one line of the script that sounds too salesy, regenerates one shot, and downloads the MP4. It runs as a Facebook ad targeted within 15 miles of the workshop.

What a video ad costs for a tradesperson

A local agency or videographer charges for a shoot, editing and often travel. With adkix, your first 15-second video is free when you sign up, no credit card. After that you buy credits as you go or take a monthly plan with no commitment; a 30-second video uses about one and a half times the credits of a 15-second one. The budget for running the ad on Facebook or Instagram is separate: you pay that to Meta. If you also run a shop alongside your trade (florist, baker, wine merchant), the local business video ads page is a better fit.

Frequently asked questions

I don't have a website. Does it still work?

Yes. adkix can also start from an Instagram account or a plain description of your business. The more detail you give (trades, area, what sets you apart), the more accurate the script.

Do I have to appear in the video?

No. The video is told by a voice-over on shots filmed by AI. There's no avatar and no shoot.

Does the video show my real jobs?

No, the images are generated. To show your work, keep your photos on your website and in your posts, and use the video to draw attention to them.

Which network should I run my first ad on?

For a tradesperson targeting homeowners, Facebook and Instagram first, with targeting by area. TikTok is mostly useful if your customers are young or if you're recruiting.

Can I change the text before paying?

Yes. Angle, script, voice, shots: everything can be reviewed and changed before you spend credits.

How long until I have the video?

About twenty minutes from the pasted link to the finished MP4, including changes if you don't rewrite everything.
